Notes for Source TeX Files

These notes relate to sources posted on the Aldermaston blockade webpage. The sources are in the form of TeX files, using the PLAIN format of TeX (see TeX Users Group for information on TeX). As well as the ’.tex’ file available from the downloads page, you will need to download and unpack the texies.zip ZIP file. This file contains the following files, which should be unpacked as indicated:

graphics files:
Graphics used by TeX source files (unpack into same directory as .tex file): .png format used by PDFTeX (to generate PDF), .eps used by TeX+dvips (to generate POSTSCRIPT).

TeX macro files
Unpack into the same directory as the main .tex file (some files can be installed on system-wide TeX macro directories if you want to use them for other files).

Font sources
Font files used in the .tex files. Unpack into a suitable directory for metafont files: on many systems, the command ’kpsepath mf’ will give you a list of possibilities. After unpacking, a command like ’texconfig rehash’ may be needed to rebuild filename databases. Note that the flyers use ’malvern’ fonts, of which only a selection is included in the ZIP file, the full set can be obtained from the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network.

Makefile
This file can be used with the ’make’ command (eg on *nix-based systems) to rebuild the PDF, postscript and other files from the TeX sources.
