Another Faslane Protester Jailed
|
Today Helensburgh District Court sent another anti-Trident protester to jail after he refused to pay a fine the court had imposed for a blockade of Faslane naval base last October.
George McNeilage, from Pollock in Glasgow, was given the £250 fine by the court in September. He told Justice of the Peace John Macphail that he still had no intention of paying the fine. The magistrate then said that he had no option but to impose a fourteen day prison sentence. George will serve the sentence in Greenock prison.
