Dear Ms Zelter REF: LORD ADVOCATES REFERENCE No.l, 2000

I write in response to your letter dated 15 August 2000 concerning the above matter.

I have placed your letter before Lord Prosser to consider whether or not it is necessary to convene a bench to deal with your "motion".

I understand that a hearing will take place on 12 September 2000 to consider the terms of a petition to the Nobile Officium presented to the Court by one of the other respondents.

It may be that your motion can be dealt with at that particular hearing.

I will keep you informed of Lord Prosser’s decision.

Please note that the report by the trial sheriff is now to hand and will be copied to you in the very near future.

The bench that will sit to hear the reference will consist of The Right Honourable Lords Prosser and Kirkwood and The Honourable Lord Penrose.
