Midlanders Found Guilty at Newbury
|
Four activists from the Midlands affinity group were given
a guilty verdict today at Newbury Magistrates Court.
The magistrate took
time to explain his verdict but ruled that he could not consider
International Law if it was not incorporated by statute.
Alison, Sylvia, Roger and Marlene were all landed with
hefty compensation orders, £250 each for court costs, and £291 for their
share of the damage to the fence. Sylvia was also fined an additional £100.
Afterwards she spoke of the hypocrisy that allows the UK to make grand statements
about the need to bring war criminals to justice, whilst at the same time using
a dubious interpretation of international law to defend its own criminal activities.
